Herrington's List of M/f Media

As it says on the tin: This is a list of books, films, anime/manga, video games, and other media where there are notable man/girl dynamics (M/f for shorthand; note the lowercase f). This list is always updating, so keep checking back to see if I've added more things.

I take recommendations as long as the media in question meets the following criteria:

- The main character of the piece of media is the man or girl in question.
- The man is an adult (18+, though 25+ is ideal) who is significantly older than the girl, while the girl is 19 years old or younger.
- The man and girl have a relationship in canon that exceeds or rivals their other relationships, whether portrayed to be romantic or not.
- Significant attention is given to the girl's perspective/interiority, OR the man shows reverence for girls/the girl (i.e., he is not merely a predator taking advantage of someone younger or more inexperienced).
- The submission is an original work of fiction.

NaNo Time!

For the first time, I'm doing NaNoWriMo. Which is funny, because NaNo no longer exists per se, of course. Its spiritual successor, NaNo 2.0, can be found at the link.

I'm starting off with ~12,000 words in my WIP, which means I've got to keep on top of 1,200 to 1,300 words per day. But that actually sounds pretty doable, so let's see how far I get.

Finney, Senna, and a different kind of story

So, you'd have to be blind not to notice that I'm working on a new project called The Girl Who Would Be King (working title, not the final). In fact, I just finished drafting the first three chapters of it today, and I've got a few beta readers looking it over to tell me if they'd continue reading or not:

Redrawing the first pictures of my OCs...*

* ...except Greta's. Since her first iteration in 2010 was, er, a police officer, I elected to use another piece I drew in 2012 that bears a closer resemblance to her as she is today.

Here are the results:

Greta: ...Well, while everyone got older, Greta is the exception who became younger. I think that can be attributed to the role she played as I entered young adulthood and began finding myself: namely, the face of hope, joy, innocence, and fun, someone who looked for the silver linings even when I was struggling to see them. That's reflected in how jaunty and energetic her body language is here... that's a playful young woman if I've ever seen one.

Greta's been with me for 15 years. In those 15 years, she's changed forms several times to adapt to what I need, so I expect that, when I need her to be something else, she'll change again. I felt a lot of love and gratitude while drawing her for this.
